Password hacking is one of the most common ways people can gain access to your private personal and business information. Here are our top three tips for protecting your passwords:
- Choose the right type of password. You don’t need a complicated one with symbols, letters and numbers (after all, you want to remember it). Instead, try a password comprising four or give distinct, unrelated words. The longer it is, the harder it will be to guess.
- Never use the same password for multiple logins and don’t write it down anywhere.
- Consider using a password manager. Do your research and find a credible, secure manager such as KeePass or LastPass. With a password manager you’ll only have to remember one password and type it into your password manager when prompted.
